There are two types of singing teachers: voice teachers and vocal coaches. I do both.
Voice teachers are what we typically think about when we think of singing - technique, making sure you're breathing correctly, hitting the notes on pitch, relaxing the throat/larynx, that kind of thing.
Vocal coaches help you more with the content of what you're singing, how you're presenting, what material you want to work on, the acting side of things. Vocal coaches are usually employed for singers who already know how to sing or who are preparing for an audition.
I have been singing since I was 12 and taking voice lessons since that age. I started off with classical music, competed at the highest state levels and then went on to study musical theatre. After years of lessons with some great (and not so great) teachers, I dabbled in operetta (it's similar to classical), and then transitioned into rock music.
What makes me an exceptional voice teacher is that I have learned to sing in many different genres and because of musical theatre training, I learned to do it in a healthy way. On Broadway you have to sing 8X a week. Rock singers often cancel tours because they lose their voice. I know how to teach how to sing and be able to do it over and over and over again.
Do you hate your voice and just wanna be able to carry a tune? Are you an accomplished singer and just need some maintenance or to check in with a colleague and make sure you're on track? Is there an audition coming up that you wanna nail or are you struggling with certain aspects of your voice? There are so many reasons to sing and considering my rates are the best in the area, click above to book a lesson.
While my prices will raise as time passes, my rates will never be too high. Most people that come to me are starving artists, and so I honor that pursuit of the arts by keeping my prices low. I never paid more that $150/hr in Los Angeles or NYC. That means even the best teachers out there teaching the best in their field know that we help each other out in the industry. We support one another. Allow me to support your voice. Click above to email or text 818-802-2281.
And yes, I do Zoom lessons if you live outside the DFW area.
